School Support
PRCA is committed to supporting local schools who support our organisation, and who would like to educate their students on the Pine Rivers catchment environment.
To recieve support from the Pine Rivers Catchment Association we urge schools to become members of PRCA.
PRCA is able to offer the following support to schools (approximate costs included):
- School class presentations of the Catchment Story by the Catchment Coordinator ($80 for one 20-30 min talk);
- Borrowing of the Catchment Story models for schools to present the story themselves ($20 for three days);
- One-day tours of the South Pine River or North Pine River ($500 p/day plus bus hire);
- Access to the PRCA Catchment Environment Library (no charge);
- Involvement in tree plantings where project funding is available (no charge, just dependant on project funding);
- Access to H2O's school friendly expert staff for contract weed control and revegetation (H2O to quote);
- Suggestions for school class programs associated with waterways and catchment health (see lesson plans below);
- Updates on local events, activities and grants (see newsletter and eflow); and
- Advice and links to local school programs and support tools (PRCA Network List coming soon!).
